I find a simple repair for the rear glass window on my BMW that was just opening itself. Affiliate Links to Buy:Stanley Basic Tool Kit 210 piece
One way to test it is to take the outside cap off the switch and then cut the wires and touch them together. If the window pops open then the switch is bad. You could just order a new switch and be ready to replace it if it's bad or not. Once you cut the wires, I would probably just replace the switch. It's only $60.
It seems like once the window hits the bottom stop thats what causes the problem. So I thought what was happening was the window was lowering to low and cocking in the guides so my solution was to machine a stop and bolt it to the regulator a 1/2" above the regulators stop so the glass wouldnt go down quite as far as before and that would fix

Hi Forum, Straight to the point I have this thing that had me wondering since I got the car brand new. Whenever I start the rear windscreen heater only 70% of the windscreen surface defrosts.
Need help with the rear defroster. I get an error related rear heated window relay. The fuse is not blown, tested each line on the rear window with the volt meter and I see 14v on each line, but it's not defrosting. Looked at the electrical diagram and looks like the relay is built-in into the junction box under the glove compartment! WHY ?? Drove the same route 3 times today. Rear window heater premanently off and on and even switched on and off while driving - a fair a test as possible. Conclusion - rear window heater does not seem to affect DAB reception at all, I lost signal in more or less exactly the same spot with heater on and off. mkqy.
