The P9 lite has the automatic file preservation function enabled which prevents any files to be permanently deleted for 30 days giving you a rare chance to recover the deleted files. This function is a real pain in the ars and that is the reason this is my last Huawei's phone.
The main gripe I have with the phone which was a deal breaker for me is that despite claims the 16GB internal storage can be increased with an SD card the EMUI overlap added to Android 7 by Huawei prevents any APPS being saved or moved to the SD card.
