Been having issues with my laptop completely locking up while playing Modern Warfare 2 (the newest Call of Duty). I've tried thermal throttling tests with Cinebench and the CPU only gets hot for about a minute before cooling off and sitting consistently at 60C (according to Armory Crate). In the end ive fixed this by replacing the GPU. Normally iam using a rtx 3080 from msi which causes freezes almost every round. By plugging in my old 1080ti from evga in the exact same pc ( also running the same drivers) the issue is gone. I was able to play several hours without a single freeze.
